I would like to describe myself as an 'Artist' by heart, 'Entrepreneur' by spirit'.

'Light is Divine' - the brilliance of light is creation, I try to capture the 'divine essence' of the magical play of light with the subject. The Touch of light creates the merger of 'my imagination' and 'the world of existence' and brings into play a New Realm of Reality and this interplay is what makes Photography so special to me.

Being a self taught photographer the greatest advantage for me is that you are forced to experiment and learn from the 'school of hard knocks' and your mistakes, which is a molding process making you grow and experiencing the tremendous satisfaction when you touch perfection. My journey of struggle gave me the vision that 'life is fleeting moments' and gave me the insight of the inherent nature and power of the medium of Photography, thus when I hold a camera I see it as a sacred instrument which goes beyond the barriers of craft and in the realms of art, giving me the satisfaction in my body of work of capturing 'fleeting frames of life' for posterity.

My identity as a still photographer defies being slotted in any traditional specific category of 'Fashion' 'Industrial' etc. To name a few prestigious projects -

*'The Adlabs Imax Dome Theatre Project' which was an assignment to photographically cover the making of this historic landmark which introduced for the first time the large film format to India.

* The celluloid transformation of the actor 'Jackie Shroff' to the enigmatic and legendary criminal 'Charles Sobhraj' for our under development film project "Bottomline".

The Official Photographer for the leading prestigious acting institute in India 'Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Lab (Institute)'

I am also freelancing as the Photo Editor of India's leading spiritual magazine 'Life Positive'

"Capturing life's fleeting moments in a magical treasure trove ,'the camera'- creating ecstasy to be rediscovered for time immortal". - Oorvazi Irani

Another aspect of my life is 'Film-making' which is in my 'genes' and I feel privileged to be the Company Director of my home production company SBI Impresario Pvt. Ltd. being incorporated in 1975 by my father Sorab Irani -Chairman/Managing Director who I share a very special emotional and professional bond with.

The company has produced a long list of award winning documentaries and short films in the international arena - for Channel Four Television, BBC London and Netherlands Television. To name a few projects:

* 'Percy' the first Parsi Gujarati film 1985 ‑‑ 87.(awarded at the Manheim Film Festival in Germany and the winner of an Indian National Award) - Co funded by Channel Four & NFDC

* 'The Clap Trap'1993 ‑‑ 94. Produced for Channel Four Television - An insightful film on the extras of the Bombay film industry

*'Ramayana - A Journey' 1995 -97. Produced for Channel Four Television, A six part travelogue series on the exile route of Lord Ram covering the length and breadth of India and Sri Lanka where I associated in research, script and direction. A Book and Music CD of the same is also published.

* 'Ganesh' a short film produced for Netherlands Television 1997 -'98. (Involved in the project as Associate Director)

Photography and filmmaking both address the 'world of ideas' and in that lays its special value for me as an individual....... the body is limited in time and space but the mind is infinite.
